Queer Life Drawing Collective (QLDC)

a monthly life drawing practice to honor and celebrate queer bodies and creative community in the North Bay

our mission

This uninstructed life drawing practice is not about achieving perfection or technical expertise, rather it stemmed from a drive to connect with more queer bodies and reject the constant binary of traditional fine art spaces.
We dreamed of an affirming environment to explore our gender expression through the human form and use art as a tool for activism, empowerment and community building. Help us to make this dream come true and experience vulnerability, belonging and follow your creative curiosity in a safe and affirming collective!

what we need

Interested creatives to bring their own medium of choice (water-based for ease of cleaning and fragrance-free for small indoor venues). Basic supplies will be available as part of a first-come, first-serve basis. We ask for sliding-scale donations per session to fund art supplies, costs for equipment rental, utilities and to compensate hosts and models for their generous offerings to keep our events running each month.
