Queer Life
Drawing
Collective

a monthly life drawing practice to honor and celebrate queer bodies and creative community in the North Bay.

STEP 1. YOU DID IT!

welcome.

This uninstructed life drawing practice is not about achieving perfection or technical expertise, rather it stems from a drive to connect with more queer bodies and reject the constant binary of traditional fine art spaces. We dream of an affirming environment to explore our gender expression through the human form and use art as a tool for activism, empowerment and community building. Help us to make this dream come true and experience vulnerability, belonging and follow your creative curiosity in a safe and affirming collective!

step 2. who's involved?

iso creatives, models, hosts.

Interested Creatives may bring their own medium of choice (water-based for ease of cleaning and fragrance-free for small indoor venues). Basic supplies will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants will need to complete initial registration through Google Forms before being added to WhatsApp/Discord for event details and further communications. We encourage all that identify as LGBTQIA+ to model regardless of experience. Models should bring what makes them feel their best; whether it is comfortable robes, sheer fabric, costumes or props. We will regulate the temperature as best as possible with rotating spaces and with participants joining/leaving. Gender neutral bathrooms will be available for changing before/after the event and all windows and doors remain covered and securely locked during the entire session. Events are typically structured with a few short poses (1-5 minutes) and end with longer poses (10-15 minutes) with breaks at the top of each hour.We ask attendees for a sliding-scale entry fee to fund art/food supplies, equipment & storage costs, and to equitably compensate models and hosts for their generous offerings to keep our events running each month. However, no participants will be turned away due to a lack of funds. We also welcome anybody that has an open safe space and any other offerings to connect with us regarding interest in hosting a session. Please complete the registration form or contact us.

step 3. who we are

Unplugging involves a lofi or 80’s mix, cooking and gardening with her dog, Summer.
L (they/them) Co-Founder, Facilitator & Teaching Artist
